Meet Guin
Here at Toad our biggest strength is our kind, creative, hardworking team! We’re taking you behind the scenes to meet some of the people who bring Toad to life.
Job Title: Design Director
Toad Tenure: 13 years
Best Toad Times: Grilled Cheese Smackdowns, campfire songs, and digging through vintage shops for treasures with my team.
Why Toad: I get to work with some seriously fab people.
An Everyday Skill: Pragmatism
In A Different Life: I might have been a florist, a sommelier, or running a B&B.
AM or PM: I’m a night owl.
Favorite Condiment in the Fridge: Mustard
Ideal Vacation: A rigorous hike with a stunning view, followed by an equally stunning spa day, and plenty of delicious food.
Comfort TV: Friends, Seinfeld, and anything with Chris Farley
What You’re Doing Outside: Pottering around with my sweet fam.
Always In Your Car: A big jug-o-water, sunscreen, and a yoga mat.
Under-packer or Over-packer: Just right. I have a “no checked luggage” rule so what I’m bringing has to fit in my rolling bag.
Simple Joy: It’s fall in the Midwest (where I live), so I’m leaning into ambient lighting. At 4PM lamps are flicked on and candles are lit for dinner.
Daily Luxury: Cappuccino
Home State Pride: This is probably hard to believe but… my home state of MN has more miles of shoreline than California!
Personal style: My personal style is grounded in a balance of masculine and feminine elements. I often take cues from classic menswear— think preppy tailoring or sporty collegiate references— and pair them with softer, more personal touches, like a pearl necklace my mom hand-knotted for me or a silk floral scarf tied in my hair. I love playing with texture and layering, and I’m drawn to pieces that tell a story. One of my go-tos is a threadbare vintage crewneck sweatshirt in a bold color, or one of my dad’s old graphic tees styled with a modern silhouette. It’s a mix of nostalgia and intention—heritage pieces grounded by contemporary updates.
Guin's Picks
A mash-up of vintage-inspired patterns with total "grab-it-from-the-back-of-the-cabin-closet" energy. Cozy, nostalgic, and full of personality.
As a Minnesota girl, I don’t mess around when it comes to winter warmth— and this one’s legit. Packs down nicely, handles East to West Coast temps, and the color combos? So good.
Our version of a “walk-in-the-woods camo.” I’m a big camo fan, and this botanic spin feels grounded, outdoorsy, and totally wearable.
Mid-wale cord with a sneaky dose of hemp—so the drape is incredible. Roomy in the leg, wildly comfortable, and already my go-to cold weather staple.
Kind of a wardrobe sleeper. A quiet hero around the holidays—pair it with your favorite Toad sweater and tights for Friendsgiving and beyond.
I love wearing this with a graphic tee, chunky socks, and slides. The flat-front waistband keeps it polished, while the encased elastic back means all-day comfort. Win-win.
Easy to wear with a subtle pointelle cutout that adds just the right touch of feminine detail. Comes in neutrals that go with everything.
The square neckline, pintucks, and sweet details make this one a standout. Looks great worn loose or with a playful tuck.
Inspired by classic men’s shirting, but with a relaxed, modern cut that makes it an everyday closet staple.
The base of most of my outfits these days. Just cool-girl cuts in the softest fabric. Love our take on the classic ringer stripe this season.
This one’s been in the line for a few seasons, and it’s still a favorite. Like a sweatshirt, but with a little more structure, texture and warmth—perfect for those in-between days.
Sigh. She’s a forever staple. Merino wool on the outside, organic cotton next to skin for comfort, and dreamy melange yarns. With just a touch of ‘90s roll collar nostalgia.
So glad vests are back. This one is cozy, lofty, and incredibly versatile—layer it up, dress it down, make it your own.
